On this tour, you bike on Storgatan in Växjö in western direction to Bergsnäs, where you bike under lush, cool verdure by a streaming watercourse. Then, you follow Räppe canal and pass the old brewery in Bergkvara. Soon, you have reached Bergkvara manor and the ruin. Then you carry on on the old road Gemlavägen and into the childhood neighborhood of Pär Lagerkvist. You pass both his grandparents' houses.

Take a look at the river Helige å the marshy meadows, Lagerkvist wrote a poem about them. In the local history society's house, there is a memorial room about Lagerkvist's life.

The toy museum includes hundreds of old Gemla-wooden toys, which can make you nostalgic.
