Travel in and around Växjö

Växjö is big, but still small - you reach a lot within 15 minutes. Here you will find information on how to get around by bike, bus and taxi.

Bike

It is easy to cycle in and around Växjö. There are many cycle paths that take you to attractions in and around Växjö as well as to nature and lakes that are not far from the city center. There is about 190 kilometers of cycle path in the municipality and it takes no more than 15 minutes to cycle five kilometers.

Bus

You can buy a ticket on the buses with cards or cash, mobile ticket through the app "Länstrafiken Kronoberg" or Travel Card. You can buy the travel card on board the bus, at Länstrafiken's customer center or other points of sale.

Parking

In Växjö's central parts there are two different parking zones:

  • Zone 1 (blue marker on the map): SEK 18 per hour at 9.00-18.00 on weekdays. Free after 12 noon on Saturdays and all Sundays.
  • Zone 2 (green mark on the map): SEK 5 per hour at 9.00-18.00 on weekdays. Free Saturdays and Sundays.

To pick up and leave travelers by car at the station area, we recommend Södra Bantorget at the World Trade Center and parking the boatman.

The parking garage in the Business Center Tegnér always has 2 hours of free parking (do not forget to check in the parking lot).
