Växjö Golf Club was founded in 1959. The scenic facility adjacent to Helgasjön's beach is a combined park and forest course. The golf course, designed by Douglas Brasier, was playable with 9 holes in 1961 and with 18 holes in 1968. The course is perhaps best known for having one of Sweden's most difficult finishing holes.
