Nature reserve Hovshaga

A place that has been popular ever since the Stone Age, as many ancient relics testify to. The nature reserve's close proximity to the lake and urban area makes the area valuable for outdoor recreation and recreation even today.

The biodiversity of the area is rich, with, for example, large pockets and spawning crows as well as many herbs and butterflies such as bastard heaters, and the orchid root. Visitors can experience a varied nature here with open pastures, lakes and beaches, closed spruce forests or beach forests with old oak and pine.

There are a large number of trails and smaller roads that are used for walking, running and cycling. Along Helgasjön there are several bathing places with sandy beaches, bathing jetties and mowed lawns. Welcome here to Växjö Municipality's seventh nature reserve. Kronoberg Peninsula's five nature reserves with high natural values offer a total of 1042 hectares (of which 655 hectares of Helgasjön's water) that promote outdoor life, exercise and unique experience values for the future.
