The nature reserve consists of coniferous forest and has trails suitable for walking, jogging and biking. Fylleryd is situated in the eastern part of Växjö between Högstorp and Sandsbro. The western area is particularly rocky and hilly, but planes out further to the east near the lake Toftasjön. A golf course was erected in the eastern part in 1992. The nature reserve of Fylleryd is one of the more varied and used areas of recreation in Växjö. There is an 11 kilometer long trail called Trestugespåret and a 5 kilometer long illuminated jogging track.

Willow tit, crested tit, goldcrest and Black Woodpecker are some of the birds you have a chance of hearing here. Apart from the forest, there is also a wetland forest, bogs and marshes.
